Whipped Cream with a Touch of Jack
Featured in In These HillsRecipe from Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding House, Lynchburg, Tennessee
Jump to Recipe ↓Note: Miss Mary Bobo herself never allowed alcohol in her boarding house—not even for cooking—and she certainly allowed no tippling by her boarders in their rooms either. Today, however, the boarding house tops its custard pies with whipped cream featuring a splash of Jack Daniel's Old No. 7.
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
- 2 tablespoons to 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Directions
Whip the cream in a chilled bowl with an electric mixer or a whisk until soft peaks form. Add the powdered sugar and whip until well blended. Fold in the Jack Daniel's. Cover and refrigerate.
Yields: 2 cups whipped cream
