Kelsey and I are planning a Waco Road Trip for 2018 to visit Magnolia Market, and I recently polled Facebook friends who’ve been to Waco for their “must sees, must dos, and must eats!”
It was so helpful!
This is what they shared:
- Arletta recommended seeing the Dr. Pepper Museum
- Julie-Nick said the Magnolia Farms bakery was “fantastic!”
- Perrianne advised that the least crowded days are Tuesday and Wednesday (which, of course, now everyone and their dog will go on those days, so never mind, don’t make note of that!)
- Melissa said they were actually there RIGHT THEN while she posted her comment to Facebook. How fun was that! She commented that everything there was beautiful and peaceful and that it was just such a lovely place to visit—and that she didn’t want to leave! (Melissa, if you’re still there in 2018, we’ll meet up!)

- Scott commented that “the entire town of Waco is being “restored” and it’s really a beautiful thing to see. Not all the houses, etc… but a beautiful sense of community that made us feel like we were all guests of way more than just the Silos. Amy is obsessed with all things Magnolia. I am obsessed with the cupcakes!” LOL… I love that!
- Angela shared that she and her sister went in May, and she recommends visiting the Baylor Campus (beautiful!) and also the Barrett Browning Library. (Will do, Angela!)
- Lauren said that eating at Torchy’s Tacos (right by the Silos) is a must! And that their fried avocado taco is especially good! (Consider it done, Lauren! Not sure I can wait another six months!)
- Julie recommended visiting the Texas Ranger Museum. (Added it to our list, Julie!)
- Polly (who shared the lovely collage above) says to see 1) The Findery and The Findery Warehouse (The Findery is just a block away from Magnolia Silos and has farmhouse furniture and home decor, then the warehouse has even more), 2) Hecho En Waco (New Mexican Restaurant, in walking distance from Silos), 3) Spice Village (take trolley from Silos), 4) and that there’s a tour you can take (by bus) to see homes from Fixer Upper (about a 4-hour tour). Added all that to our list, Polly! (Our list is growing, Kels!!)
- Sandy shared that she lives just a few miles from Magnolia. She recommends taking the shuttle (great tip!) and that there are parking lots around town, and you can just grab the FREE shuttle to drop you off at Magnolia. And again, she reiterated what Perrianne did, that Tuesday is the best day to go for the least crowds (but, again, you’re going to ignore that, right?).
- Finally, Janet shared that you MUST get a cupcake or a cinnamon rolls. (It’ll be a hardship, Janet, but somehow we’ll suffer through!)
