Which are you? Someone who loves Christmas music or who tolerates it?
Me? I’m a lover. But only if I’m not made to overindulge. A little can go a long way with Christmas music, especially if you’re in a mall or store and, say, the Chipmunks Christmas song comes on. Spare me, please!
Granted, I don’t usually begin listening to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. But this year, for some reason, I started early. Some of my favorites?

But the Christmas song that “gets to me” most often?
Christmas in Dixie by Alabama, because it was my sweet mom’s favorite. Every time I hear it, I think of her, and I thank God that He blessed my life with her for as long as He did.
This time of year is so special, so filled with fabulous food and wonderful times with family and friends. But it can also be a very difficult and lonely time of year as we miss loved ones who’ve gone on before us. Or for the recently divorced or widowed. Or for someone who’s just lost their job.
So as all the “Christmas to dos” quickly start to mount (I haven’t yet put up our Christmas tree!), I’m determined to keep my focus on the true meaning of Christmas. And to keep an eye out for those for whom, despite the beauty of Christmas, this isn’t necessarily “the most wonderful time of the year.” Lord, give me eyes to see—and to love—like You do.
