My Coeur d'Alene Sisters

Every summer since 2003, I've met with writing buddies for an annual retreat in Idaho where we plotted each other's next books, played like crazy, and prayed for each other amidst lots of laughter and fun. While our final formal retreat was 2025, we still have our email group and meet on Zoom each month to catch up and pray for each other. I cannot imagine life without these women. Both this one, and the life to come. 🤍

Here are some glimpses of our retreats through the years—days filled with plotting, playing, and praying. Do you recognize any of these gals?

It takes time—and the Lord Jesus Christ—to develop these kinds of deep, eternal relationships. Do you have these friendships in your life? I hope you do.

If you don't, stop and pray right now (just as I did years ago) that God would bring friends into your life who can not only encourage you, but who you can encourage in return. He's faithful and he'll do it.

Want to see all the books we plotted together through the years? Let me tell you, God is GOOD and was so present and faithful for those five days each July that we met. Talk about precious memories. . . Thank you, LORD of Heaven's Armies.
