Are you a movie lover like me?

I love, love playing trivia games. So…

I’m going to list some quotes from movies, and let’s see if you can guess them. The answers are below, but don’t peek!

Keep track of how many you get right and then let me know in the comments!

Ready?

Here goes:

Movie #1:
“So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s gonna be really hard. We’re gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, for ever, you and me, every day.”

Movie #2:
“I love you. You’re my only reason to stay alive… if that’s what I am.”

Movie #3:
“Listen to me, mister. You’re my knight in shining armor. Don’t you forget it.”

Movie #4:
“Don’t forget I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.”

I admit it… Watching movies is one of my favorite ‘treats’ after long stints of writing.

Movie #5:
“No, I don’t think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That’s what’s wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.”

Movie #6:
“As you wish.”

Movie #7:
“I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”

Movie #8:
“My heart is, and always will be, yours.”

So, how’d you do?

What makes a quote so memorable, do you think? Or a piece of narrative—”For who could ever learn to love…a beast”—so vivid in our memory?

When I read a novel, I tend to underline sections much like a textbook. Because I want to be able to go back to those scenes and experience those emotions again. It’s the same reason we watch a movie we’ve already seen over and over again.

What movie or novel do you find “quotable?” Perhaps it’s a scene you remember or a section of dialogue from the book.

A novel quote for me is from A Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers:

“Rather than remain a sealed jar, she sought only to pour herself out to others. Everything she did mirrored her faith. It was as though every waking hour of the day she was devoted to pleasing her God by serving others. This God that she worshiped consumed her. It didn’t ask for a brief visit to a temple, or a small votive offering of food or coin, or a few prayers every now and then. This God wanted all of her.”

Now it’s your turn to share. Can’t wait to see how many of the movie quotes you knew!

Blessings on your Tuesday,
Tamera

ANSWERS to movie quotes:
#1 The Notebook (This is a love/hate movie for me <g>)
#2 Twilight (Yes, I read the books and watched the movies. Sue me.)
#3 On Golden Pond (Such a great movie. #Henry&HepburnRockedIt)
#4 Notting Hill (Love the final scene on the park bench, and the song that’s playing. Sigh…)
#5 Gone With the Wind (Don’t particularly like this movie? Frankly, my dear… Well, you know.)
#6 The Princess Bride (Such. A. Fabulous. Movie.)
#7 When Harry Met Sally (So many quotable lines from this flick. The main one? “I’ll have what she’s having.” LOL. So good!)
#8 Sense and Sensibility (You knew I’d put this movie on the list, right? I’ve watched this countless times; Kelsey and I can practically quote the whole script)
