Sometimes secrets just won't stay hidden . . .

Two women from different centuries living in the same house share strikingly similar journeys.

Claire Powell’s life is turned upside down when her beloved husband admits to a “near affair.” But when Stephen accepts a partnership with an Atlanta law firm without consulting her and buys a historic Southern home sight-unseen—it pushes their already-fractured marriage to the breaking point. Claire’s world spirals, and she soon finds herself in a marriage she no longer wants, in a house she never asked for.

In 1863, Charlotte Thursmann, pregnant and trapped in a marriage to an abusive husband, struggles to protect her unborn child and the enslaved members of her household. Desperate, she’s determined to right the evils her husband and others like him commit. But how can one woman put an end to such injustice? Especially if her husband makes good on his threat to kill her?

Both Claire and Charlotte discover truths about themselves they never realized, along with secrets long hidden that hold the power to bring God’s restoration—if only they choose to let it.

USA Today bestselling novelist Tamera Alexander—author of A Million Little Choices, With This Pledge, A Lasting Impression, Beyond This Moment, Colors of Truth, and more—is one of today's most popular writers of inspirational historical romance and contemporary women's fiction.

While being Gram Tam is her current favorite role, she’ll never turn down a stroll through an old cemetery or browsing through antique shops. Tamera and her husband live in Nashville, Tennessee, a short distance from the Southern mansions that serve as the backdrop for many of her critically-acclaimed novels.

She views her writing as a way to grow closer to the Lord Jesus Christ—and her desire is that those who read her novels will take steps closer to Him as well.

Amazing Women in God's Word!
This weekend I had the amazing privilege of teaching at the Perinton Community Church’s Womens Retreat (Rochester, NY). What a fabulous group of women. We laughed, we cried, we shared our stories. But mostly, we feasted on God’s Word and immersed ourselves in what Jesus says about forgiveness in Luke 15—all while looking at these three parables through a middle eastern lens, which is life-changing.  Read more
My last D was in QBA!
The last D I made was in college in QBA—Quantitative Business Analysis, and even then I think my Harding University professor (Dr. Priest) had mercy on me after so many hours of private tutoring. Math and I have never been fast friends. Which makes it so funny that our son Kurt majored in Mathematics (with minors in Chemistry and Christian Ethics) and loves trig and calculus. Shoot me now. He definitely takes more after his father in that regard. But last week...  Read more
Books on my nightstand
Here are three books I'm currently reading and would highly recommend. And get ready, because I'd love to know what's on your nightstand and if you're enjoying the read! #1 You might already know I'm a fan of Kristi McLelland's Bible studies and teachings. She's an excellent teacher and has a God-breathed gift of communicating the Word through a middle eastern lens, which always informs …Read more
